DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : Under the general Supervision of a School Bus Driver Trainer and Director of Transportation the School Bus Driver Trainee will enter into an in-house training program with the ultimate goal of earning a CDL with an S endorsement.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES : (Illustrative Only) :
- Operates a school bus without students;
- Checks the operating condition of the bus before starting on a trip;
- Reports any operational defect to immediate supervisor;
- Keeps interior and exterior of vehicle clean and neat;
- May be required to operate a station wagon or other similar vehicles;
- May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks on the vehicle;
- Maintains records of mileage, routes, times and incidents;
- Assists with preparing and maintaining maps of routes and pick-up points;
- Other duties as assigned.
SALARY : $18.50 / hour
