Position Description
Overall Responsibilities
The Electrical Technician plays a critical role within the Engineering Resources Team. This position is based in one of the Iowa sites and primarily supports the site, with potential involvement in projects or resources at other facilities as needed.
Essential Job Functions
- Design, build, and modify controls, integrations, and electrical systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Develop and document electrical control schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems using provided schematics.
- Participate in daily production meetings to address and resolve operational challenges.
- Collaborate with management and maintenance teams to diagnose and repair machinery.
- Review and process shop orders, maintaining accurate records of completed tasks.
- Strictly adhere to safety policies and procedures.
- Operate and maintain forklift equipment with appropriate licensing.
- Ensure workstations remain clean and organized; complete 5S checklists.
- Foster a positive and cooperative work environment, working independently or as part of a team.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Physical Requirements
The role requires the ability to sit for extended periods, with sufficient finger dexterity for tasks such as writing, typing, and calculator use. Vision must be adequate to read small print and view computer screens. Effective communication, both speaking and hearing, is essential. The position involves walking throughout facilities and occasional moderate lifting of up to 50 pounds. Additional physical activities include stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching with arms and hands.
Travel between multiple facilities may be required to fulfill job responsibilities. Physical tasks may also include exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds consistently to move objects. The role requires the ability to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, or poles using both arms and legs, as well as maintaining balance on narrow, uneven, or moving surfaces. Bending at the waist and other similar movements may also be necessary.
