We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Development Specialist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will identify and pursue new business opportunities, develop relationships with customers, and assist in the creation of strategies to increase revenue and market share. The Business Development Specialist will have strong communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of the business development landscape, and the ability to generate innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
As a member of the Sales team, the Business Development Specialist is expected to:

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proactively identify, develop, and pursue opportunities to specify and sell our education division products to predetermined market segments.
- Activities may include in-person and virtual meetings, product demonstrations, lunch & learn presentation, and joint sales calls with our regional sales managers and/or education dealers.
- Develop and execute quarterly objectives to achieve annual goals.
- Assist in the development and execution of comprehensive business development strategies/initiatives in defined educational markets.
- Identify and target undeveloped market opportunities and potential customers.
- Assist in the management and relationship building of new customers to ensure satisfaction, solutions, and promote additional opportunities.
- Document and share uncovered/discovered industry trends (design, product usage, etc.), competitor tendencies, new product ideas, and competitive strategies with the Education Sales Manager – The Americas.
- Collaboratively work with sales and marketing team campaigns & efforts to introduce and increase awareness of our products in the education markets, including non-traditional avenues.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on business development activities.
- Understand and professionally articulate product differentiators including features, advantages, and benefits.
- Effectively utilize Salesforce.com to ensure timely milestone and pipeline management.
- As assigned, attend industry and state tradeshow and networking events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience in business development or sales.
- Proven track record of driving revenue growth, meeting sales targets, and expanding market presence.
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop and execute successful growth strategies.
- Understanding of market trends, industry landscape, and best practices.
- Able to develop creative solutions to meet customer needs.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information (including mathematical calculations and dimensions), financial reporting, and legal documents.
- Software proficiency:
- Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Salesforce or similar CRM platform
- Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or similar video conferencing platforms
- Epicor or similar ERP software
