Job Summary :
Preferred Government Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) to assist in Cardiac Catheterization (Cath) Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab procedures at the VA Greater Los Angeles Health System. This role requires technical expertise in cardiovascular diagnostics and interventions while providing patient-centered care to veterans.
Key Responsibilities :
Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab) :
Assist with cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, stent placements, and structural heart procedures such as TAVR and MitraClip.
Operate and maintain fluoroscopy, hemodynamic monitoring, IVUS, and pressure wire systems.
Monitor patient vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and blood pressure throughout procedures.
Assist in emergency situations, including cardiac arrest and STEMI activations.
Electrophysiology Lab (EP Lab) :
Assist with electrophysiology studies (EPS), pacemaker / ICD implantations, ablations, and lead extractions.
Operate EP mapping systems such as CARTO, EnSite, and Rhythmia, as well as intracardiac ultrasound.
Monitor intracardiac signals, pacing thresholds, and defibrillator testing.
Qualifications & Experience :
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Radiologic Technology, or a related field.
RCIS (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) or RCS (Registered Cardiac Sonographer) certification preferred or required.
BLS / ACLS Certification (Basic and Advanced Life Support) required.
Minimum of one to three years of experience in a Cath Lab and / or EP Lab setting.
Strong knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring, cardiovascular anatomy, and electrophysiology procedures.
Ability to handle high-pressure situations and cardiac emergencies.
Proficiency in cardiovascular imaging, monitoring, and mapping systems.
