Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Data Lead to drive data strategy, architecture, and implementation for a large-scale project. The ideal candidate will bring over 10 years of experience in roles such as Data Scientist, Data Architect, or similar, with strong expertise in data design, implementation, and analysis. The candidate will be a thought leader with extensive experience managing data models, databases, data ingestion, and data management processes, as well as leading complex projects within healthcare or similar domains.
The Data Lead will be responsible for developing data strategies, ensuring high-quality data management practices, guiding the development of data models, and leading the implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions. The candidate will work with multiple stakeholders and project teams, ensuring the successful execution of data-centric projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Architecture and Strategy:
- Lead the design, implementation, and management of complex data architectures and data models across hierarchical, relational, object, structured, and unstructured data.
- Provide thought leadership on data design, data ingestion, and data management techniques, ensuring effective and efficient integration of data systems and processes.
- Architect and design ETL frameworks and load schemas for data stages, ensuring optimized and scalable solutions.
- Data Management and Quality:
- Oversee data ingestion, modeling, management, and mastery, ensuring data quality across all stages of the data pipeline.
- Lead data quality initiatives, using Data Quality tools to assess, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues.
- Implement and manage Master Data Management (MDM) solutions to create cohesive and interleaved data across multiple systems.
- Data Modeling:
- Develop and implement data models tailored to the specific needs of the healthcare domain (or applicable industries).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to design data solutions that meet business needs while maintaining data integrity, consistency, and compliance.
- Leadership and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Lead and coordinate efforts across multiple project teams, stakeholders, and departments to deliver data-driven solutions.
- Navigate large and complex data initiatives while managing project timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder expectations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members and data professionals, promoting best practices in data management.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Prepare and present executive-level materials to communicate data strategy, progress, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive documentation, including data models, architectural designs, and best practices for team use.
- Data Governance and Security:
- Ensure data security and privacy measures are integrated into data systems, adhering to relevant compliance standards.
- Contribute to the development and enforcement of data governance policies.
Required Skills/Expertise:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a data-driven role such as Data Scientist, Data Architect, or similar, with a strong background in data design/implementation and analysis.
- Data Models and Structures: Expert knowledge of various data models/structures (hierarchical, relational, object, structured, and unstructured).
- Database Systems: Extensive experience with multiple DBMS and RDBMS such as IBM IMS, MS SQL, Oracle, DB2/UDB, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.
- Data Ingestion and Management: Expert knowledge in data ingestion, data modeling, and data management techniques.
- ETL Tools and Architecture: Extensive experience with ETL tools/utilities, architecture design, and modeling data staging and load schemas.
- Data Quality Tools: Proven experience with Data Quality tools, and the ability to document, prioritize, and resolve data quality issues.
- Master Data Management (MDM): Experience in the implementation of MDM solutions and creating correlated or interleaved data.
- Data Modeling Experience in Healthcare (Preferred): Experience in the development of data models specifically within the healthcare domain.
- Project Leadership: Demonstrated experience navigating complex projects with multiple stakeholders and teams.
- Communication Skills: Strong organizational and leadership abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Presentation Skills: Experience in preparing and delivering executive-level presentations.
- Licensing/Certifications (Preferred):
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP)
- Master Data Management Certification (MDM)
- Certified in Data Protection (CDP)
- Certified Public Sector Data Governance Professional (PSDGP)
- Certified Analytics Professional (CAP)

Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Modern Applied Sciences, or a related field.
