We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to assist in managing Excess and Obsolete Inventory (E&O) and Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) inquiries and impacts within the EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) ecosystem. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with internal Itron teams and external global EMS providers to ensure accurate inventory management, including monthly report reviews, liability assessments, and forecast impact evaluations. This is a hands-on position demanding a deep understanding of Supply Chain processes, MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems, forecasting, and proficiency in supply chain analytics.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Supply Chain Specialist to assist in managing Excess and Obsolete Inventory (E&O) and Minimum Order Quantity (MOQ) inquiries and impacts within the EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) ecosystem. The selected candidate will collaborate closely with internal Itron teams and external global EMS providers to ensure accurate inventory management, including monthly report reviews, liability assessments, and forecast impact evaluations. This is a hands-on position demanding a deep understanding of Supply Chain processes, MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems, forecasting, and proficiency in supply chain analytics.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and mitigate E&O inventory and related costs for EMS providers.
- Analyze monthly EMS reports, aging buckets, and determine liability for excess and obsolete inventory.
- Evaluate forecast changes and Product Life Cycle (PLC) impacts on E&O costs, running simulations as needed.
- Collaborate with supply planners, finance, and other internal stakeholders to validate and address inventory liabilities.
- Utilize Power BI, Excel, and AI tools to proactively identify cost-reduction opportunities.
- Develop proficiency in Itron’s systems (Oracle, Power BI) to streamline inventory analysis and reporting processes.
- Provide actionable insights and propose solutions to meet quarterly E&O budget targets.
- 3 years of experience in a supply chain planning role or relevant experience
- Proven expertise in Excel and Power BI; experience with AI tools is a plus.
- Strong understanding of MRP systems and supply chain planning processes, including BOM (Bill of Materials) management and forecasting.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data, manage contracts with EMS providers, and address discrepancies in inventory management.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Experience with Oracle ERP systems; SAP knowledge is a bonus.
- Familiarity with AI and emerging technologies to enhance inventory simulations and forecasting accuracy.
- Prior experience working with EMS providers and managing contractual relationships.
