Job Description
Credit and Collections Specialist Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Credit and Collections Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for performing collection and credit investigations for a portfolio of customers, ensuring timely resolution of outstanding issues, and providing excellent customer service.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough credit evaluations using Dun & Bradstreet Credit Reports, forecast programs, financial statement analysis, trade reports, references, and other relevant tools.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external parties to ensure seamless communication and prompt issue resolution.
- Analyze potential bad debts, provide detailed recommendations, and establish action plans for resolution in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Investigate disputed items, liaise with business unit contacts, and resolve issues efficiently.
- Participate in regular meetings with Business Unit Controllers to identify and address significant outstanding issues.
- Determine credit worthiness for domestic, Canadian, and export orders within assigned authority levels.
- Analyze credit worthiness for orders exceeding authority levels by analyzing supporting documentation and furnishing recommendations to higher authority levels.
- Evaluate terms and conditions on orders and obtain proper divisional acceptance for extraordinary terms.
- Maintain current credit limits to maximize sales and minimize losses.
- Assist in the AR reporting process, including producing, maintaining, and distributing various reports to Business Units as required.
- Analyze A/R spreadsheets to summarize significant changes in payment habits and provide insights for improved collections strategies.
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting in account reconciliations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- A.A.S. in Business or equivalent experience (minimum two years credit/collection experience) OR five years of credit/collection experience with two credited business courses, including Accounting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Basic accounting knowledge.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Prior experience with AS400 and SAP is a plus.
- Prior experience with GetPAID is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a team environment.
Benefits
ITT Inc. offers a comprehensive compensation package that includes a competitive salary range of $52,000 to $77,400, depending on experience and qualifications, plus benefits and incentive plans.
