Job Description:
The Receiving Associate is responsible for assisting the Logistics/Materials Manager with daily processes of Steel & Packaging material receiving, Finished Good shipping & related material flow functions.
Essential Functions:
- Review electronic material notice from Supplier.
- Receive & unload material trucks.
- Stage material & check each for proper identification tags.
- Check & verify accuracy of material verses material documentation.
- Document any missing tag, build a replacement tag & attach it to the material.
- Store material in designated row locations.
- Rotate material in row locations ahead of deliveries.
- Review Purchase Order quantities in the ERP System.
- Receive material into the ERP System under the appropriate Purchase Order.
- File electronic and hard copies of material documentation.
- Deliver material to appropriate production areas.
- Perform physical inventory of material.
- Submit physical inventory reports.
- Assist with outbound Finished Good shipments when needed.
- Assist with preparing outbound Finished Good shipping documents as needed.
- Assist with Warehouse Associate Coverage during absentees.
- Assist with signing for, checking packing slips, verifying & unloading all Plant deliveries.
- Assist with warehouse audits of finished goods to ensure required labeling & packaging for transit.
- Ship small packages & customer samples using the UPS Software system.
- Help to maintain a clean, orderly & safe warehouse area.
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
- Demonstrated forklift operating skills and at least 2 years of previous warehouse experience required.
- Forklift certification is a prerequisite. An employee may be hired without prior certification; successful completion of probationary period will require achievement of certification.
- Proficiency using computer and other office equipment such as scanner and printer.
- General knowledge of production, warehouse, and shipping systems.
- Ability to work independently and without close supervision.
- The position requires frequent lifting, keen vision, mental awareness, team orientation, and careful attention to detail.
- Demonstrate knowledge concerning general safety protocol and procedures regarding field operations.
- Ability to work independently, manage projects and complete assignments in a timely manner.
- Self-starter; works with minimal supervision; capable of offering up and making decisions.
- Effective oral, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Team-player with aptitude to learn the ITW culture and work within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to maintain keen vision and mental awareness while practicing careful attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate with team members to support troubleshooting, problem solving, root cause analysis, and related process improvement activities.
