CAD Drafter / Technical Generalist – Troy, OH

The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments. This position is in the Hobart Warewash Division at its Troy, Ohio facility, located 20 minutes north of downtown Dayton.
The Warewash Business Division produces Hobart brand commercial dishwashers that are used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, cruise ships, schools, universities and retail establishments. We are an industry leader and are seeking to expand our growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.
Summary
As a CAD Drafter/Technical Generalist you will provide support to the Food Service sales organizations by creating and altering layout drawings for given devices and providing other technical support tasks for our dealers, end-users, consultants, vendors or Territory Sales Managers that sell Warewash/Waste equipment. There are also administrative tasks to keep customer information accurately documented as well as ensuring that the drawing library is up to date. This position reports to the Technical Specialty Manager.
Candidates will be offered on-the-job training for our internal databases, quoting software and documentation software. Other projects and opportunities may be assigned based on candidate experience and acclimation.

What You Will Do
- Receive, interpret, and discuss information provided from various internal and external customers to ensure the final drawing is accurate
- Draw medium-to-complex machines of various types
- Prepare completed drawings for order by cross checking various sources
- Answer both internal and external customer inquiries based on the information available
- Customer service experience with creating or reading quotations and SharePoint are preferred but not required
- Strong technical aptitude that includes the ability to identify and question inconsistencies among documentation provided to ensure the accuracy of the final drawing
- Detail oriented with excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Microsoft office experience
- A certificate or two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting or similar experience
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD, Draftsight (or comparable) software to create and alter drawings for medium-to-complex devices, using documentation such as quotation, specifications, floor plant or other documents provided
- Prior experience in utilizing a quoting system, preferred but not required
- Knowledge of drafting and design theory and practices
- Ability to interpret and formalize product drawings and sketches
