Summary

Job Description:

The Account Manager for the Wholesale Distribution (WD) channel is responsible for achieving sales growth within the assigned territory through effective utilization of the ITW Business Model. This role is responsible for maintaining strong customer relationships, prospecting & developing new business opportunities and executing the tactical, operational plan to deliver sales growth. This position reports directly to the National Sales Manager, WD.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a robust plan to achieve significant growth within the territory
  • Retain and expand relationships with assigned distributors and National accounts
  • Work with distributors to identify, develop and close new business, and expand business with existing accounts.
  • Train assigned distributors and their sales team on the products and their value proposition
  • Manage territory through effective prospecting, opportunity management and account planning to maximize growth
  • Participate in market/channel projects as required to support the overall business strategy.
  • Promote, support, and adhere to all safety and quality related policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • This position has no supervisory duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 to 10 years of sales experience
  • Prior sales experience in the Automotive Aftermarket preferred.
  • Possess a ‘hunter’ mentality regarding finding and developing new sales opportunities.
  • Results driven and proven success in exceeding sales goals and objectives.
  • Ability to establish and expand relationships with decision makers at customer organizations.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate sales narrative, work with customers to accomplish workable solutions, and drive the selling process from inception through launch.
  • Strong process discipline and ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow territory revenue.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products required.
  • Travel ~30%, current driver’s license with clean driving record

Hours of Work

  • 40 hours per week
