E. H. Wachs, is seeking a Shipping & Receiving Clerk based in Lincolnshire, IL.
Position Overview:
The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be responsible for efficiently processing all inbound and outbound shipments. This includes accepting deliveries, maintaining records, sorting packages, and preparing shipments.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for verifying accuracy of all inbound package and freight shipments.
Maintains records by logging all received shipments into the system.
Accepts deliveries, including offloading freight.
Prepares shipments by picking and labeling requested parts, fulfilling sales orders, and carefully packaging product for transit.
Schedules freight pickups and deliveries. Ensures competitive rates for all shipments.
Manages and communicates any vendor errors to buyers for review.
Works with the Inside Sales Team to resolve customer concerns.
Collaborates with other departments to ensure efficiency and on-time delivery.
Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
Utilizes light-duty construction tools (nail gun, chop saw, reciprocating saw, drill, etc.) to crate/uncrate machinery and prepare shipments.
Safely operates forklifts according to company safety procedures.
Adheres and complies with state and federal law, ISO Quality program and procedures, and E.H. Wachs safety procedures.
Willing to flex between departments as needed.
Additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
High School diploma or GED equivalent is required.
At least 6-12 months of relevant shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Forklift experience preferred. Training and certification provided as needed.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency and aptitude with computer programs including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams, Word) is required. Experience working with CRM systems, Great Plains, FedEx Ship Manager, and UPS Worldship is a plus.
Strong organizational, prioritization, critical thinking, and time management skills.
Be a self-starter, working efficiently with minimal supervision and perform well and in a team-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented and willing to seek out information to ensure full and accurate communication.
Must be able to adjust to a changing work environment, competing demands, frequent changes, delays and unexpected events.
Ability to work overtime if required.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to walk, continuously stand for long periods, bend, squat, stoop, twist, reach, sit, type, grip, pull, push, and stretch; lift or move up to 35lb regularly and up to 50lb occasionally and use hands/fingers to perform continual tasks.
Must be able to use light-duty construction tools on a frequent basis.
Work environment:
Manufacturing environment with exposure to heat, cold, machinery and controlled chemicals.
Exposure to frequent noises from drills, pneumatic tools, forklifts, and general production environment.

Compensation Information:
Pay Range: $19.90 - 24.00 per hour
