This role requires a hands-on approach, partnering with management and supervisors to understand career planning, performance results, and disciplinary actions.
Main Responsibilities
- Acting with an entrepreneurial mindset, this position partners with management and supervisors to understand and thoughtfully challenge on career planning, performance results, managing follow-up processes for high and low performers and support disciplinary action.
- Providing hands-on leadership to a team of 3, follow up on team deliverables, and provide leadership with actionable insights.
- Partnering with management in areas such as hiring, performance management, termination, employee relations, etc.
- Compile and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement. Create move forward plans to address these issues, partnering key personnel to own and drive these changes.
- Collaborates with management to identify change management implications and develops change plans.
- Stay abreast of relevant labor laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's compliance.
- Ensure employee concerns, conflicts, and grievances are addressed in a fair and timely manner, fostering a positive work environment through effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Educate and influence leaders and managers on building an inclusive culture within the workplace.
- Act as a leader, exuding behaviors that are in alignment with ITW values and culture.
- Conduct regular feedback sessions with leaders and employees as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 10 years of Human Resources generalist experience including previous experience working in a manufacturing setting and/or similar populations of hourly employees.
- Experience in all facets of human resources including recruitment processes, employee relations and legal compliance requirements.
- Proficient understanding of English, verbally and written required.
- Demonstrated strength in analyzing facts and issues, identifying options, and able to decide and recommend a course of action. Must know when to compromise and when to be assertive.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering results.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Prior HRIS experience preferred.
- Up to 25% travel, travel between facilities required.
