This position is responsible for the basic setup, operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment in order to produce according to quality specifications in an efficient and safe manner.

Qualifications
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this position, within typical manufacturing working conditions. While performing the duties of this position, the employee will be exposed to fumes, heat and dust, climate variances and moving mechanical equipment typically found in a manufacturing environment. The noise level in the work environment is high when exposed to the manufacturing areas. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Core Responsibilities
- Performs duties to set up and operate complex pin forming equipment such as knurlers and wafios.
- Required to run, setup, adjust and maintain quality of parts from knurlers, wafios, and other related equipment.
- Keep accurate count of parts produced and perform material handling as required.
- Check quality of parts as required. Keep team leaders and coaches informed of quality problems.
- Troubleshoot machines and perform minor and preventive maintenance tasks to equipment.
- As a team this position is responsible for continuous operations. No scheduled machine downtime; i.e.: lunch, breaks, and shifts.
- Uses instruments such as micrometer, scales, comparator, gauges and calipers.
- May be required to maintain statistical process control (SPC) charts. Expectation is to prevent all non-conforming products from moving to next operation or leaving work area.
- Responsible for own work to include quality and quantity. However, may work as a team with another operator or operators.
- Required to use forklifts and hand lifts.
- May be required to train other operators.
- Follow all prescribed safety/housekeeping practices and procedures. Identify and tag safety hazards on machinery and in work area. Perform 5-S activities and improvements as required. In addition, track machine downtime per shift.
- Work with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.
- This position may be assigned other duties as needed to support plant and to meet customer needs.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED.
- Must be able to work up to 40 hours with occasional overtime, no greater than 12 hours/day.
- Ability to understand basic machinery. Over 3 months up to and including 12 months preferred of manufacturing experience including setup, operate, changeover, use of measurement tools and knowledge of preventive maintenance preferred.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to recognize and identify parts, problems, and offer resolution.
- Ability to read blueprints / specification sheets and follow instructions.
- Successfully complete supplemental training (i.e. blueprint reading, technical math, and measurement tools)
