The Manager, Enterprise IT Frameworks is part of the Corporate IT team and will have responsibility to work directly with IT leaders at our ITW businesses to develop guidance on proven IT practices and to support strategic decision making of a significant scope. He/she creates, communicates, supports and manages our global IT frameworks, including the ERP Framework, Cyber Security Framework, Leadership Development Framework, and others.
Each framework is a set of processes, templates, and tools designed to guide ITW businesses through common business technology-related decisions, projects, and operational processes.
ITW manufacturing businesses vary from smaller, local divisions with fewer locations to larger, complex global divisions, which requires flexibility in approach to align with growth and profitability drivers of each business. Therefore, the IT guidance and recommendations developed and managed by this role must conform to this decentralized structure and culture.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Works with ITW’s Segment IT Leaders to prioritize development or significant modification of Enterprise IT Frameworks, based on common areas of interest or challenges for IT leaders across ITW
- Develops framework outline, content, tools, templates, and solutions, as appropriate, working with Division IT leaders and other knowledgeable resources, and performing independent research
- Communicates framework strategies and standards to ITW businesses, in partnership with Segment IT Leaders
- Maintains current knowledge of business technology and general IT trends, especially those applicable to manufacturing and industrial service operations for the purpose of future Framework development, strategy, and general education
- Plans, develops, and hosts IT Webinars on a regular basis to educate enterprise IT Leaders and their teams on new or modified IT Frameworks, new products or solutions from strategic partners, proven IT practices, and emerging technology trends of broad interest; identifies and coordinates other opportunities for education, training, or knowledge-sharing among ITW IT leaders and their teams
- Develops and maintains relationships with the broad group of IT leaders across ITW to develop effective programs and services, enable collaboration and networking, and offer relevant consultation in coordination with Segment IT Leaders
- Partners with the Enterprise IT Vendor Management team on the development of new strategic programs, leading the definition of requirements and advising on how vendor solutions and services could add value to ITW businesses
- As applicable, selects and manages external resources working in the Enterprise IT Frameworks area; manages related vendor relationships; mentors ITW staff assisting with Frameworks projects
- Promotes and facilitates collaboration through online IT communities and events
Anticipated Near Term Priorities:
- Creation of a new framework focused on selecting or re-vetting 3rd Party IT Support Providers and facilitation of a webinar introducing the framework to the ITW IT teams.
- Significant updates/refreshes of our ERP, Cyber Security, and IT Leadership Frameworks to include current trends and evolving practices.
- Collaboration with Corporate Cyber Security teams to support ongoing efforts to document lessons learned, remediations, and facilitation of educational webinars.
- Planning and project management of the Global IT Leadership Summit and related webinars/event in conjunction with the IT Leadership Team.
- Collaboration with the Enterprise IT Vendor Management team, providing IT expertise and context on new and existing Vendor Programs and assisting with the Enterprise communication of new and renewed programs.
- Continue driving momentum for the 80/20 IT Strategy across the Enterprise.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related field.
- 8 years’ experience working in Information Technology at a manufacturing company.
- At least 3 years leadership responsibility for all aspects of IT, including strategy/planning, applications, infrastructure and operations, service desk, etc. in a mid-sized manufacturing or industrial business. Multiple employer experience in IT leadership roles strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting ERP systems including implementation and post-production support.
- Highly capable of framing new or unfamiliar concepts effectively for a diverse group of business and technical leaders, actively seeking and refining ideas with input, and building consensus to form a shared vision for action.
- Demonstrated experience delivering engaging presentations on technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences. Comfortable presenting to large (100 ) groups of peers and/or leadership.
- Committed to practicality, simplicity, and cost effectiveness in solving problems and implementing solutions as a thought leader in mid-sized businesses.
- Demonstrates the business acumen and technical insight to identify how emerging trends and technologies might add value to ITW businesses, allowing him/her to bring credible ideas forward for new programs or frameworks.
- Exhibits leadership and people skills to influence and motivate within a highly matrixed and multi-cultural organization, and to promote constructive relationships among business leaders and IT leaders at Corporate and in the businesses. Has a strong desire to mentor and develop others.
- Has a strong command of verbal and written English and demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively through formal and informal channels.
- Project management skills and proven track record of leading broad-based enterprise initiatives.
- Ability to work onsite at the Glenview, IL corporate campus.
- Willingness to travel on occasion (1-2 times per year, on average).
Compensation Information:
The compensation package for the role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $135K - $170K annually. This position is eligible to participate in the annual incentive plan.

Salary : $135,000 - $170,000
