Job Summary
- Lead Quality Improvement efforts within the QIRM team, aligning with ETS' mission, strategic goals, and a client-centered philosophy of care.
- Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to promote patient and client safety, reduce adverse events, and implement harm prevention strategies grounded in best practices.
- Develop and oversee clinical quality programs that integrate medical, behavioral, and case management disciplines, achieving strategic outcomes and fostering exceptional care.
- Drive performance improvement initiatives and champion equity by reimagining systems of care to address substance use, homelessness, and community health disparities.
- This hybrid/full-time onsite position typically requires 2-3 days on site per week, with hours varying based on work demands.
- Help ETS succeed in carrying out our mission through working together with other staff to transform systems of harm and inequity to create different approaches to improving community health and safety through addressing substance use and homelessness.
- Assist with the organization-wide initiative to reimagine our interconnectedness within our community to overcome the aspects of our society and organizational culture shaped by white supremacy and settler colonialism.
- Lead as a Quality Improvement Program Manager, providing expertise in clinical quality improvement, data analysis, risk reduction, and process improvements.
- Evaluate and recommend ways to improve quality metrics and achieve clinical and service outcomes.
- Establish and maintain systems for quality assessment and improvement in medical and nursing, adhering to total quality management principles.
- Review case records for documentation accuracy, train staff on proper clinical documentation practices, and collaborate with external auditors to ensure compliance with pertinent regulations.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, audit tools, and reporting mechanisms to support quality initiatives.
- Conduct Behavioral Health/Integrated Care audits and support internal Quality Committees.
- Oversee tracking of performance improvement plans and corrective actions from both external and internal audits, ensuring alignment with regulatory and regional guidelines.
- Collaborate with data teams to establish metrics and prioritize improvement efforts based on performance outcomes.
- Manage patient safety projects and provide input on the effectiveness of performance improvement programs.
- Provides subject matter expertise in the field of patient safety and adverse event reports evaluation.
- Manages adverse events, grievances generated in the agency, on paper or in the third-party platform.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and formulate a Critical Incident Review Report and other investigative reports, as needed for clinical settings, and patients receiving services from a ETS (Evergreen Treatment Services) program.
- Formulate and track corrective action plans and actively engage in consultation and/or technical assistance with ETS leadership in the implementation of action plans for improvement activities as directed.
- Manage the team of Behavioral Health Quality Improvement Specialists to ensure their success and support their professional growth.
- Provides Leadership to the clinic Services Quality Management Committee - QMC
- Promote and demonstrate the importance of a Just Culture approach to learning and quality improvement within team and across the organization
- Build trusted stakeholder relationships across the organization to cultivate and successfully achieve organizational wide goals.
- Ability to work and lead in a team environment autonomously.
- Requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Clinical Supervisors, Community partners and professionals. This includes Communication, Training and Relationship Building.

Requirements
What you bring to this role – Qualifications:
Credential (License, Certification, Provider One, etc.)
- RN or LPN - Registered Nurse - WA State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure within 60 days
- RN-Temp - Registered Nurse - Temporary State Licensure within 60 days
- RNs at ETS must be graduates of an accredited school of nursing and have a current Washington State RN nurse license and hold an Associate's or higher degree in nursing.
- LPNs at ETS must also be graduates of an accredited school and have a current Washington State LPN nurse license and hold an Associate's or Vocational diploma.
- This role requires an NPI (National Provider Identifier) number. This number is used for administrative and financial transactions.
- Addiction medicine or behavioral health experience is preferred but not required.
- Over 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance and Quality Improvement, with 5 years of professional practice as an RN or LPN.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with clients, patients, and staff from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds.
- Highly organized, with excellent prioritization skills, the capacity to work independently, and a track record of completing tasks efficiently.
- Skilled in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Proficient in technology, including Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, and platforms like MS Outlook and Teams, with a commitment to staying current with technological advancements.
Physical Conditions and Requirements:
- The employee may be exposed to illicit drug residues and fumes or other bio-hazardous materials when carrying out job functions. There is also potential for exposure to bloodborne pathogens. ETS will provide employees with appropriate training to limit the risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens. Policies and procedures are in place addressing each item specifically.
- The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, and kneel; occasionally to climb balance, or stoop; rarely to crouch or crawl.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, color, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
