SUMMARY
The Program & Project Manager will drive efficient project management across International Finishing Trades Institute (iFTI) / Labor Management Cooperation Initiative (LMCI), ensuring that critical tasks, programs, and initiatives are tracked and executed in a timely manner. This role coordinators effectively with Trade Specialist, oversees international and external grant programs, and provides essential data collection and reporting to support strategic decision making.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Coordination
Liaise with Trade Specialists and other iFTI staff to document and track programs, projects, and progress on convention resolutions, action plans, and initiatives.
Facilitate meetings : schedule sessions, compile agendas, and follow up on action items.
Communicate projects status to relevant stakeholders, proactively identifying and resolving issues
Collaborate with the Senior Apprenticeship Training Representative to ensure field staff remain informed of all required data points, key metrics, and the status of action plans and projects.
Grants Administration
Oversee the LMCI grand sub-committee, coordinating annual grant cycles, facilitating meetings, and preparing recommendations for the Executive Director.
Collaborate with Administrative Support staff to rack grant usage, prepare detailed reports on grant outcomes, and communicate results to leadership, ensuring compliance and maximizing impact, in-line with IUPAT initiatives and resolutions.
Data Collection & Reporting
Coordinate data gathering with the Senior Apprenticeship Training Representative for quarterly and ad-hoc reporting to the Board of Trustees, enabling clear insights into metrics and performance
Serve as co-administrator for project / work management systems (e.g., WorkZone), facilitating consistent data entry and analysis.
Analyze data to identify trends, monitor progress, and recommend course corrections or improvements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical abilities
Capable of managing multiple deadlines and collaborating with cross-functional teams
Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred
Project Management Certification preferred
Experience coordinating projects, with a strong grasp of both theoretical and practical PM techniques
Familiarity with trades projects or working with trade unions preferred
Knowledge of IUPAT and the finishing trades is a plus
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Approximately 15% travel with the remaining 85% in an office or home office setting.
