United Therapeutics (Nasdaq: UTHR) seeks to travel down the corridors of indifference to develop treatments for rare, deadly diseases. We were founded in 1996 by a family seeking a cure for their daughter’s pulmonary arterial hypertension( PAH). Today, we have six FDA-approved therapies that treat PAH, pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease (PH-ILD) and neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. Our near-term pipeline seeks to develop additional therapies for PAH and pulmonary fibrosis (PF). The cure for end-stage life-threatening diseases like PAH, PH-ILD, PF, and many others is an organ transplant, but only a small percentage of donated organs are available to address the vast need. For this reason, we are working to create manufactured organs to address the shortage of kidneys, hearts, lungs, and livers available for transplant. We believe an unlimited supply of tolerable, transplantable organs will eliminate the transplant waiting list and cure end-stage organ diseases for which transplant is not currently an option. Our onsite locations offer a variety of amenities and perks available to all our interns. The Bioengineering Intern with assist scientists and other team members with experimental work in lab. They’ll be tasked with routine lab activities including reagent preparation, sterilization, materials preparation, clean-up, and other entry level lab duties as assigned. High-level exposure to scaffold fabrication and cell culture techniques. The intern will assist with scaffold materials preparation, 3D printing, bioreactor fabrication, and software programming. Interns are responsible for arranging their housing and transportation. A relocation stipend may be provided for non-local candidates. Determinations will be made on a case-by-case basis. 2025 Internship Program Dates: Monday, May 19 – Friday, August 15 Monday, June 2 – Friday August 29 Minimum Requirements Must actively be a college student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, Cell Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Physics, or a related scientific discipline Must be available to work 40 hours per week Must be able to work in the Medford, Massachusetts office 5-days a week Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite Job Location Medford, Massachusetts At United Therapeutics, our mission and vision are one.
