Chef & Kitchen Supervisor
IVP at The Beach House is an outdoor sand volleyball facility with 3 bars and an on-premise restaurant, The Beach House Bistro. We run daily leagues and weekend tournaments March-October. (WE ARE SEASONAL) The Beach House Bistroserves large sandwiches, healthy salads, fresh seafood and a variety local bar favorite too. The Beach House also hosts many parties and catered events.
Our kitchen staff is small; 1 manager on duty at all times and 1 or 2 additional cooks.
Kitchen Manager Job Responsibilities:
- The kitchen manager is first and foremost a cook. Maintaining cooking standards and recipe consistency is critical to this position.
- Oversees day-to-day operations of the kitchen.
- Provides direction to kitchen staff, ensuring execution of all duties.
- Monitors kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and fire department regulations.
- Ensures compliance with state, federal, and local food handling requirements and standards.
- Assists in the implementation and management of kitchen and restaurant policies and procedures throughout scheduled shift.
- Must be capable of performing the duties of all kitchen positions when required.
- Ensures products are stored at the correct temperatures and the recipe books are up to date with current menu items, portions, and ingredients.
- Ensures utilization of daily prep sheets and meat/fish yield sheets daily and that product counts are recorded accurately. Participates in monthly inventory process.
- Anticipates, identifies, and corrects any issues with inventory, systems, and staffing.
- Oversees and approves training and development of kitchen staff.
Work Hours
We are open from 11 am to 12:30 am most days, with the majority of our business taking place in the evenings. Weekdays shifts tend to be 3-Close. Weekend shifts can be Open-5 or 5-Close with the exception of Tournament Saturday. All Employees must be available to work Tournament Saturdays. Tournament shifts can be up to 12-hour shifts and/or split shifts.
Kitchen Manager Qualifications/Skills:

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years of cooking or hospitality-related experience
- 3 years of kitchen manager or leadership experience
- Current food handler’s card and other certification
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
