IVS Group is seeking a Highway Construction assistant Project Manager for our Construction Division
The successful candidate will be assigned to our Construction Group based in Waverly, West Virginia and will work directly for the Group Vice President and current project managers, and assist them in the overall management and operation of certain jobs along with other PM’s. A complete training will be provided to ensure the candidate has a total understanding of the work, how it is performed and operation of the equipment. The Construction Division works in multiple states including West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Arkansas and Louisiana. Travel to jobsites will be required. Candidate must be able to determine environmental issues, digest and understand construction plans and specifications for each individual state, including nuisances that impact cost and production. Responsibilities:
· Oversee aspects of specialty construction/ construction projects from planning to implementation.
. Quality control
· Allocate and manage all necessary resources to complete the project- including men and equipment for each job.
· Successfully interface with customers, contractors, project inspectors, and field personnel.
. Assist project manager with project ancillary items: water control, disposal, trucking, rentals, logistics.
. Gain valuable experience through "hands-on" field work with construction crews.
. Promote and mentor and develop future field management personnel.
. Assist with the recruitment and development of additional CDL operators, laborers, and staff.
· Oversee up to 15 projects through their various stages of completion at a time.
· Review and assess projects to ensure budgetary costs are being met for each project.
· Be able to sell our “product” to new customers and meet or exceed target goals.
Requirements:
· Must have 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry.
· Engineering or construction management background preferred.
· Must have excellent leadership skills, be a strong communicator, and have a “take ownership” attitude.
· Must be willing to travel up to 60% of your time.
· Must be familiar with all Microsoft office programs.
