Ivy Creek UMC is hiring a part-time choir director to join our leadership team and reinvigorate our Chancel Choir program that has been singing only occasionally since the pandemic. In the past, our Chancel Choir has led the Sunday morning worship service and has presented special music performances during Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter. Our choir currently has approximately 12 volunteers who can perform a wide variety of pieces and styles. Rehearsals are typically once weekly.

Additional duties include:

* Working as a member of our Music Team to enhance and expand our music programs.

* Helping grow and develop an inter-generational choral program.

* Assisting choir members in developing their musical abilities and encourage them as they work to offer their highest praise to God through music.

* Actively recruiting new members for the Chancel Choir.

* Working with the accompanist to organize, maintain, and grow our music library.

* Leading the ICUMC congregation in song during worship.

• Collaborating with the accompanist, pastor, and worship committee to plan worship (includes worship committee meetings approximately quarterly).

* Coordinating audio system requirements with technical volunteers.

* Developing future opportunities for the music ministry.

Expected time commitment: 10-15 hours weekly at $28.00/hr.

Expected qualifications: Experience directing a choir, knowledge of Christian music, experience playing piano or keyboard, satisfactory background check.
