Job Title: Dietary Cook & Resident Care Aide
We are looking for a dedicated and flexible team member to join our rest home, which serves 26 residents. This unique position combines kitchen duties with resident care responsibilities, offering a dynamic and rewarding work environment.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will have experience in both food service and senior care. This role requires flexibility, with 1-2 shifts per week/weekend in the kitchen, along with additional hours assisting residents with their care needs and transportation to appointments. The resident care portion of the position offers a flexible schedule to accommodate the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:Kitchen Duties:
- Prepare and cook meals according to specified recipes and dietary restrictions.
- Follow proper food storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Assist with meal prep for the next shift.
Resident Care Duties:
- Assist residents with daily care needs.
- Provide transportation for residents to and from appointments.
- Offer companionship and support to enhance residents' quality of life.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper sanitation practices.
- Experience working with seniors or in a caregiving role.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs.
