Summary: Join our team as an Assistant PreK Assistant Teacher, where you'll have the unique opportunity to provide support in various teaching and administrative tasks as needed. Your role will be essential in fostering a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment for our Infant Learners 6 weeks up to 2 year old's.

Under the guidance of the Lead Teacher, you will actively contribute to the planning and execution of daily activities, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met. By practicing Conscious Discipline, you’ll help nurture children’s emotional and social growth, guiding them to build positive relationships, self-regulation skills, and a strong sense of empathy.

As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll not only assist in academic development but also create lasting, supportive connections with children, staff, and families. This position is perfect for someone who is passionate about early childhood education and is ready to make a meaningful impact in shaping the future of young minds.

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour

Job Title: Assistant InfantTeacher

Reports to: Director / Education Director (Daily guidance from the Lead Teacher)

What You’ll Do:

General Responsibilities:

  • Embrace and uphold Ivy Kids Brand standards and Georgia Minimum Standards.
  • Assist in bringing the MultiPrep curriculum to life through fun and interactive lessons, while following our daily schedule for outdoor play, meals, snacks, and special activities.
  • Use positive guidance techniques to support children as they navigate social, academic, or adjustment challenges.
  • Keep track of each child’s developmental milestones, incidents, and attendance with care and attention.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to create a welcoming and developmentally appropriate classroom atmosphere, complete with engaging decor and learning spaces.
  • Share daily updates with parents of our youngest learners and keep Procare updated. For older age groups, make sure to post daily activity lists for parents and help maintain our classroom bulletin boards.
  • Stay informed about Georgia Minimum Standards and ensure we follow all Ivy Kids Critical Procedures.
  • Support the Lead Teacher with Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQs) when needed.
  • Follow Ivy Kids Personnel Policies and maintain a professional appearance.
  • Keep our classroom clean and safe by following sanitation processes, and be aware of any allergies among the children.
  • Complete incident reports as necessary and strive for consistent attendance.
  • Engage warmly and professionally with families, and actively participate in staff meetings and training sessions.

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Implement all critical health and safety procedures to ensure a safe environment.
  • Know what to do in emergencies, whether it’s a fire, tornado, or other situations.
  • Administer CPR and First Aid when needed.
  • Keep educational materials and equipment in great condition.
  • Follow sanitization procedures according to childcare licensing regulations.
  • Maintain a tidy and safe classroom and play areas.
  • Ability to drive small 14 passenger school bus(No special license required)

Building Relationships:

  • Create a caring and supportive environment by establishing appropriate caregiver ratios.
  • Communicate warmly and professionally with families and staff and report any significant behavioral observations to the director.
  • Get involved in center events, staff training sessions, meetings, and fun programs.
  • Be flexible and willing to take on temporary assignments when regular staff are unavailable.
  • Be available for occasional after-hours or weekend events and training as needed.
  • Adapt your schedule as necessary to meet the needs of the center.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience, with previous experience being a plus.
  • Physical ability to bend, stoop, run, and lift/carry children weighing up to 50 pounds, depending on their age and weight.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine love for working with children and parents.
  • A commitment to ongoing learning, with a requirement of at least 24 hours of training each year.
