Position Overview:
The After School Site Assistant will support the Site Coordinator in the daily operations of the after school program. This role involves engaging with children, leading activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering an inclusive and positive environment. The ideal candidate will be energetic, patient, and passionate about working with children. Before school is also an option!
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and implementing daily activities and programs that are engaging, educational, and fun for children.
- Supervise and interact with children during indoor and outdoor activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Provide homework assistance and academic support to students.
- Promote positive behavior and core character values through role modeling and direct instruction.
- Communicate effectively with site lead, parents and guardians about their child's progress and any concerns.
- Assist in setting up and cleaning up program spaces, ensuring they are safe and organized.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Ivy League Kids, including those related to health, safety, and confidentiality.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Coordinator or Program Director.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in education, child development, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, camp, or recreational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a group of children effectively and compassionately.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Background check clearance.

Work Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, with hours typically from 6:15- 9 am and/or 2:15PM to 6:00 PM (hours may vary based on site needs).
