THE POSITION:
As part of the Events team, the Audio Visual (AV) Technician is responsible for delivering top-tier AV support for various events and activities. This role requires a balance of exceptional technical skills, customer service abilities, and adaptability to different AV environments. Reporting to the AV Events Manager, the AV Technician will assist with routine and impromptu AV needs across multiple campuses.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Strong customer service and organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in current hardware and software technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with peers and superiors.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information and equipment access.
- Dependability and reliability in performance.
- Calmness under pressure, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Skilled in creating and maintaining documentation and inventory.

- Experience in a higher education environment is a plus.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical AV support to internal and external patrons at various Indianapolis campuses (IFC, NMC, Tech, CCCI, LRC), as well as Lawrence, ATC, and Plainfield.
- Maintain and troubleshoot AV equipment, ensuring all devices are functioning properly.
- Respond to and assist with patron requests, offering both scheduled and impromptu AV support.
- Efficiently communicate with peers, patrons, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
- Work effectively under pressure to resolve AV issues quickly during events.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of Windows Operating Systems and basic computer hardware.
- Use communication tools like Microsoft Teams, phone calls, and texts to stay connected with team members.
- Provide logistical and operational support for events.
- Demonstrate empathy, respect, and professionalism in interactions with clients and colleagues.
- Travel to different campuses (Lawrence, Plainfield, ATC) as required for support.

EDUCATION:
- High School diploma required.
- Associate degree in IT-related field preferred, or equivalent experience and certifications.
