What are the responsibilities and job description for the Enrollment and Recruitment Specialist position at Ivy Tech Community College?
As an Enrollment and Recruitment Specialist, you’ll be a key part of our team, helping students take their first steps toward a bright future at our campus. Your role will consist of welcoming and guiding prospective students, representing Ivy Tech Richmond in the community, and making the enrollment process as smooth and supportive as possible. You'll help students navigate their journey from interest to enrollment, ensuring they feel informed, encouraged, and excited about their future with us.
Role Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted outreach to newly admitted students to support them through enrollment steps and ensure a smooth transition into the first weeks of classes.
- Manage a caseload of applicants of the college to help meet our campus enrollment metrics. Foster meaningful connections through a proactive approach, ensuring each student feels supported during their enrollment process. Create a positive and engaging experience with timely check-ins, helpful resources, and a commitment to student success.
- Maintain and monitor comprehensive student notes in customer relationship management (CRM) database, ensuring accurate and up-to-date tracking of student progress and needs.
- Collaborate with and make appropriate referrals to various campus departments such as Career Link, Financial Aid, Advising, and more, to provide students with access to essential resources and support or wraparound services.
- Actively participate in community events, targeting both adult and high school recruitment spaces, to enhance the college’s recruitment and engagement efforts.
- Provide leadership in organizing and facilitating campus visits for prospective students and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) and superior customer service experience.
- Competent using technologies including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office, text messaging systems, virtual applications (Zoom, Teams, etc.), Client Relationship Management tool, etc.
- Must possess excellent relationship building skills including working successfully with diverse populations.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement related to college policies.
- Experience in administration, education, or case management preferred.
- A willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and/or weekends.
- Ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
Education Requirements
Associates degree required.
