What are the responsibilities and job description for the Workforce consultant position at Ivy Tech Community College?
The Workforce and Talent Development Consultant develops deep collaborative partnerships with service area employers to understand their specific market and individual training and education needs.
Actively listen to and engage employers to co-develop and deliver demand-driven, voice-of-the-customer solutions leveraging state, campus and customer data.
Work collaboratively with Ivy Tech Campus with internal partners to successfully implement metrics tied to employers, employees and College outcomes and ensure services and products exceed customer and College expectations.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop a deep understanding and appreciation of demand-driven needs and skills gaps within key economic sectors at the state and campus levels for workforce alignment, development, and training and education purposes.
- Leads efforts to build awareness of work-and-learn opportunities at campus and with employers, including, but not limited to such areas as internships, co-ops, apprenticeships, and other work-and-learn constructs.
- Identify top campus employers in key sectors with internal partners based on the College’s one-face, collaborative practice.
- Establish, maintain, and cultivate positive, collaborative partnerships with employers. Provide meaningful consulting services focused sharply on employer needs.
Actively listen to and engage employers to assist in realizing the full scope and depth of their needs.
- Implement demand-driven, voice-of-the-customer (VOC) processes to co-develop workforce programs and products. Thoughtfully craft employer-centric tools based on data and information from Department of Workforce Development and other agencies as well as rich customer data to align with workforce needs.
- Define and implement metrics tied to employer, employee, and College outcomes. Determine primary measures by which employers determine successful outcomes and assist with those measurements.
- Exceed customer and College expectations through successful delivery of programs and products. Continually develop new partnerships to exceed revenue goals.
- Participate in local business organizations with the VC to further develop understanding of market and community and build relationships with area employers.
- Manage the Employer facing side of HireIvy and work with the Career Coaches to help place students with employers.
- Participate in training, education, and professional development activities as necessary to stay current with the skills and knowledge required to perform the duties of the job.
- Assists with engagements linked to Indiana Office of Work-Based Learning, Department of Workforce Development, Commission for Higher Education, and other agencies related to development and job placement.

Bachelor's Degree Required
Effective communication and interpersonal skills are essential to building and sustaining collaborative internal and external partnerships.
Preferred : A minimum of three (3) years related experience in direct strategic and consultative sales.
