$25.5 - $28.5 hourly
Responsibilities:- Preparing USCIS application forms and memorandum in support of filings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, for immigrant and non-immigrant visas
- Conduct legal research and analysis related to immigration law, including researching and interpreting relevant statutes, regulations, and case law.
- Prepare and review legal documents, including petitions, applications, pleadings, legal briefs, and other filings, to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and trials, including preparing exhibits, conducting witness interviews, gathering evidence, assisting with client meetings, and filing motions.
- Hold client interviews to gather information about their legal problems.
- Manage, and organize immigration cases, including tracking deadlines, maintaining case files, and communicating with clients and other parties.
- Perform other administrative duties as needed, to support the attorneys and the immigration practice.
- Candidates should possess high-level organizational skills, and time-management skills
- Candidates must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Strong knowledge of immigration law and relevant regulations and statutes.
- Minimum of 3 years of immigration law-related work experience under the supervision of a licensed attorney or in a law firm setting.
- Extensive knowledge of visa, permanent residency, and secondary benefit applications and substantial experience in preparing such petition packages.
- Excellent legal research and analysis skills.
- Ability to prepare and review legal documents accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with legal case management systems and software is a plus.
