GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF POSITION :
This position provides financial, accounting, and administrative leadership and support for the Ivy Tech Foundation. Key areas include leading operations for endowments, property, scholarships, grants, investments, contract management, and budgets.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES :
Manage statewide scholarships with active interaction with campus staff, ensuring they are accurately tracked and expended in a timely manner. Act as liaison for the statewide scholarship database system.
Endowment management including allocation of investment income to accounts on a monthly basis. Reconcile monthly bank statements for investment accounts and assist with performance reporting.
Manage grants accounting and support compliance.
Record appropriate entries related to the purchase, ownership, and divestiture of real estate, including related lease or depreciation activity. Coordinate leases for rental properties and ensure payments are being received.
Lead annual scholarship budgeting in partnership with campuses and Systems Office Financial Aid. Provide training and support to campuses throughout the process.
Manage the annual budgeting process for systems office and campus expenses for College Development. Establish access to accounting systems in order to process invoices and monitor budgets.
Oversee contracts including compliance review.
Assist with the monthly closing process, annual audit, 990 preparation, pledge reporting, and prepare financial reports as requested.
Manage policies and procedures and update them as necessary.
Provide operational training as needed for campus financial staff. Orient new staff in fiscal operations of Ivy Tech Foundation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of progressive fiscal management, auditing, or investment management experience is required, preferably in fund accounting or not-for-profit organizations.
Excellent communication (oral and written), planning, problem-solving, organization, project management, and customer service are required.
Must consistently exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Must be able to problem solve and work effectively independently and in a team environment.
