The Position :
GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION :
The Full-time Sciences Laboratory Technician provides essential laboratory support for a wide range of natural science courses, including Anatomy & Physiology, Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Earth Science, and Physical Science. This role encompasses the technical set-up, cleaning, inventory management, and purchasing to ensure smooth operations in the science labs.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Major Responsibilities :
Set up and tear down instructional labs for courses in the Indianapolis service area.
Prepare chemical solutions, growth media, and cultures for lab experiments.
Order, receive, and distribute lab equipment and supplies.
Schedule and perform preventive maintenance on lab instruments and equipment.
Ensure all safety regulations and lab procedures are followed.
Provide task delegation and guidance for part-time lab staff or student workers.
Perform additional tasks as needed within the scope of laboratory support.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Associate's degree or higher in a related field.
Must demonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
STARTING SALARY RANGE : $20 an hourly
