JOB FUNCTION
The Assembly Machine Operator is responsible for all areas regarding assembly machine productivity but not limited to, fixing/repairing line breakdowns, ensuring machines are operating efficiently, maintaining check sheets, and completing any assigned project work.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION
Required:
High School diploma / GED
SKILLS
- Ability to communicate with fellow team members and management in a multi-cultural environment.
- Ability to multitask by helping others as machine issues arise.
- Must be a self-starter and work without direct supervision and direction.
- Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair problems with machinery.
- Experience using hand tools on a regular basis (i.e. calipers, pliers, etc.).
- Ability to work in a safe manner, keeping safety as your first priority.
- Ability to do heavy lifting up to 50 lbs. frequently.
- Basic computer skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to stand on feet and ability to walk 8-12 hours or as required.
- Ability to push and pull heavy carts that are loaded with finished part
- Ability to work in stressful situations, (i.e. machines causing large amounts of downtime.)
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
TASK DESCRIPTION
- Ensure that all equipment is operating properly and all safety guards are in place and working properly.
- Assist with training on proper machine operations.
- Responsible for checking quality of the parts being made.
- Responsible for maintaining documentation regarding the quality of the parts and the operation of the ma-chines.
- Responsibility for general upkeep of assigned areas (i.e. daily cleaning of the machines and floor)
- Responsible for completing any special projects as assigned by their lead or a member of management.
- Assist in minor maintenance of machines, for example changing out feeder plates, changing hammers, etc.
- Inform Supervisor of any downtime and/or scrap issues that may arise throughout the shift.
- Ensure that safety standards are identified, communicated and achieved
- Ensure that environmental standards are identified, communicated and enforced within the department.
- Maintain housekeeping standards within the department.
Shift: 4:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $15.14 per hour
