Associate Director, Utilities Position Summary:
This role is responsible for designing, operating, and maintaining the organization's utility systems, including hot water, chilled water, steam, natural gas, and water treatment. The Associate Director plays a key role in ensuring reliability, sustainability, and operational efficiency. This position also provides backup support for central utility plant operations, overseeing boilers, chillers, and predictive maintenance programs.
The ideal candidate is a technical leader with deep expertise in utility distribution, strong project management abilities, and a track record of optimizing large-scale infrastructure systems.
Associate Director, Utilities Responsibilities:
- Oversee system maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure seamless operations.
- Develop, design, and manage utility infrastructure projects.
- Manage operating and capital budgets while ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Provide backup for plant operations, including boilers, chillers, and water treatment programs.
- Supervise staff and contractors.
- Oversee AutoCAD/GIS mapping.
- Serve as an on-call leader for utility system failures, ensuring rapid issue resolution.
Associate Director, Utilities Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (Mechanical preferred).
- 10 years in utility system design, operations, or heavy construction; project management expertise preferred.
- Strong knowledge of district heating, cooling, and water treatment systems.
- Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and large-scale projects.
