MAIN FUNCTION:
The Aquatic Group Exercise Instructor (AGEI) is responsible for delivering each aquatic group exercise class participant a world-class, highly motivating, and well-organized experience. This is inclusive of delivering safe and effective formats in all class categories. The AGEI must be inspiring, outgoing, personable and could motivate members of varying ages and ability levels. Dependability is paramount as is the ability to be flexible and accommodating and to consistently offer a robust schedule of classes.

REPORTS TO: Aquatic Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: Aquatic Manager
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

High School Diploma or GED
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
-
Current Aquatic Group Fitness Instructor certification NCCA accredited.

Certifications such as, but not limited to: Specialty class instruction certifications, BLS/AED
-
No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months

Pass Background Check

Eligible to work in the United States

Demonstrates the ability to deliver a first-class member experience in all aquatic group exercise classes including, but not limited to instructor performance, studio ambiance, equipment standards and overall level of energy and engagement.

Displays an expertise in class formatting, choreography, and management.

Competent with providing programming for all appropriate age and ability levels.

Commits to excellence by maintaining current certifications, attending continuing education seminars, and reviewing industry literature.

Routinely contributes to maintaining a clean and sanitary studio environment; including sanitizing equipment after use, properly storing equipment, and notifying management if equipment repairs are needed.
Administrative

Demonstrates competency in systems such as: class scheduling, instructor communication, member tracking software.

Show regular compliance with a structured shift or class substitution policy and procedure to avoid service interruption and assure a consistent and reliable program schedule.

Demonstrate willingness to fill substitution requests and cross-train instructing abilities to cover similar classes.

Assist, as assigned, in the delivery of any Club events for members and/or the community.
Management

Proficient with all current facility policies and procedures and ensures all operations and practices of the department satisfy those policies and procedures.

Displays the ability to enforce all class rules consistently and in a courteous manner.
General

Consistently meets and/or exceeds the Club/Department performance objectives and Key Performance Indicators as outlined in the Annual Strategic Plan.
