Human Resources Manager
J. Allen Automotive is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Human Resources Manager to oversee HR operations across multiple automotive brands. This role focuses primarily on clerical HR tasks, benefits administration, compliance, and employee record management. The ideal candidate will ensure smooth HR processes, support employees with benefits and payroll inquiries, and maintain compliance with labor laws and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Clerical & Administrative HR Tasks
- Maintain accurate employee records, including hiring, terminations, and status changes.
- Process new hire paperwork, I-9 verification, and background checks.
- Assist with payroll coordination and ensure accuracy in timekeeping and deductions.
- Manage and update HR systems with employee information.
Benefits Administration
- Administer company benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and other offerings.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions and enrollment.
- Coordinate open enrollment periods and communicate benefit changes effectively.
- Work with benefit providers to resolve employee claims or issues.
Compliance & Policies
- Ensure HR policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local laws.
- Maintain employee handbook updates and policy communications.
- Manage FMLA, workers' compensation, and other leave requests.
- Assist with audits and reporting related to HR compliance.
Employee Relations & Support
- Provide guidance to employees regarding policies, benefits, and HR processes.
- Support leadership with documentation and record-keeping for employee issues.
- Promote a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Experience: 3 years in HR management, preferably in an automotive or multi-location environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of HR compliance, benefits administration, and clerical HR processes.
- Software: Experience with HRIS systems, payroll platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Certifications (Preferred): PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar HR certification.
