We are seeking a Logistics Freight Manager for a very well established company in the Watertown, NY area.
The Freight Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the company’s US and Canadian in- and out-bound shipments via truckload, less-than-truck (LTL), and parcel carriers.
Responsibilities :
- Manages and maintains all freight functions within an internal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System and multiple customer Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Manages the planning and scheduling of hundreds of weekly shipments.
- Follows unique routing guides specific to hundreds of customers to insure accurate shipment and delivery of goods.
- Selects carriers, manages relationships, and negotiates rates. Keeps up to date on those carriers, routes and changes.
- Ensures adherence to transportation regulations.
- Addresses transportation issues like unexpected delays, damaged goods, carrier disruptions and unexpected fees / fines.
- Works closely across numerous departments including Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Finance and Warehouse / Shipping.
- Leads, mentors, and manages the Domestic Freight Department including the Logistics Coordinator.
