Compensation:
- Starting hourly rate for this position is: $26.00 per hour
- Pay is based on job-related experience
Schedule:
- Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. (Start times vary between 3:00pm - 5:00pm)
- Available to flex scheduled to cover routes as needed.
Location:
- Based out of Jamestown, ND
Essential Functions:
- Driving. Drives in a safe and professional manner while ensuring the safety of others. Operates company owned and leased trucks to facilitate shipping and receiving operations. Drivers may be assigned routes and/or shuttles. Shuttles may require drivers to handle freight and/or transfer freight from one trailer to another via the domicile unloading dock
- Deliveries. Delivers product in a safe and professional manner within time frames designated by customer demands. Maintains a pleasant attitude and builds relationships with customers while being mindful of approximate time spent at each delivery.
- Recordkeeping. Produces and maintains accurate and complete records for each delivery or pickup. Produces and maintains complete and accurate records as required by DOT Hours of Service and vehicle inspection requirements. Operates/enters accurate data into the ELD system.
- Vehicle inspections. Conducts complete and timely vehicle inspections as required by DOT regulations and company policy. Communicates any vehicle issues, repairs needs, or problems in a timely matter to designated diesel mechanics. Maintains a clean truck and trailer.
- Renews Licensing. Maintains a Class A Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with proper endorsements at all times. Maintains familiarity with current DOT rules and regulations.
- Safety. Abides by DOT laws and regulations while driving and delivering company product. Actively supports the safety performance of the department and J&B. Works safely, follows all occupational safety and health policies and procedures, and encourage fellow associates to do the same.
- Attendance: Regular, timely attendance to meet customer needs in an efficient and effective manner. Must have flexibility to work variable hours and days which may also include weekends and overtime.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Requires Class A, Commercial Drivers License.
- Requires DOT Medical Certification.
- Team player - builds and maintains positive relationships with team, other departments, as well as vendors.
- Adaptable - maintains a positive disposition despite frequent changes.
Physical and Environmental Factors:
- Safety Awareness - Follow all safety laws, policies, and procedures. Immediately report safety concerns to supervisor. Attend, and successfully complete, when applicable, all required safety training.
- Quality Awareness - Comply with the requirements of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), and Food Safety and Quality Food Programs (SQF).
- Requires ability to lift 60 lbs. regularly and occasionally up to 150 lbs.
- Requires ability to control a two wheeler down a ramp on a trailer.
- A lift assessment, DOT physical, and drug screen are required of all truck drivers.
- Subject to outside weather conditions.
