Litigation Regulatory Counsel

Job Summary : Under general supervision, the Litigation Counsel plays a crucial role in the legal process by thoroughly investigating, reviewing and assessing claims and legal cases to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. The incumbent conducts legal research and coaches junior team members. Assignments are broad in nature, usually requiring originality and ingenuity. The position works closely with attorneys and other legal professionals to support the successful resolution of claims and litigation matters.Job Description : Key Responsibilities : Analyze and assist junior team members with legal claims and cases to determine their validity and potential for resolution through litigation or alternative dispute resolution methods; consult senior team members as neededExamine legal documents, contracts, evidence, and related materials to identify key issues, facts, and legal argumentsConduct research on applicable laws, regulations, and precedents to provide valuable insights and recommendations to legal teamsEnsure that all litigation activities and strategies comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policiesPrepare and assist junior team members with comprehensive reports summarizing findings, assessments, and recommendations for further action, providing clear and concise information to attorneys and managementCollaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and other legal professionals to discuss case strategies and provide expertise on litigation mattersAssist in coordinating witness interviews, depositions, and testimony, ensuring that all necessary documentation and information are preparedOversee the management and organization of case files, evidence, and exhibits, maintaining accurate records and ensuring document retention complianceProvide support during trial proceedings, including, but not limited to, organizing exhibits, witnesses, and assisting in courtroom activities as neededRemain updated on changes in relevant laws and regulations and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance litigation examiner skillsFacilitate the investigation of accidents and losses, including, but not limited to, the assignment of local counsel and other support vendors to determine the exposureParticipate in a rotating on-call program to provide support outside of regular business hoursResponsibilities may require travel on short notice to assist in the investigation of accidents and lossesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications : Minimum Qualifications : Juris Doctorate from an accredited Law School with Less than 1 year of managing claims, litigation, transportation, or relevant experience, and / or military equivalent. Licensed to practice law (and in good standing) in at least one jurisdictionAND Demonstration of the following skills and abilities through education, certifications, military, or other experiences : Ability to process information with high levels of accuracyAbility to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlinesJob requires employee to travelWillingness to adhere to an on-call schedulePreferred Qualifications : 1 years practicing civil litigation and have experience with t aking depositions, attending mediations, arguing at hearingsHave experience with well-written complaint, answer or briefSignificant background with large volume claimsAdmission to the Bar in a recognized StateAbility to form strong arguments and defend a position professionallyAbility to maintain professionalism while dealing with difficult individualsAbility to make independent, time-sensitive decisionsAbility to work both individually and as part of a teamExperience working in claimsAbility to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas through various mediumsAbility to work with minimal directionStrong knowledge of legal research and analysisPrevious experience in litigation support or a similar legal roleProficiency in using legal research tools and softwareKnowledge of e-discovery tools and processesAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretionThis position is not eligible for employment-based sponsorship.Compensation : Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
