Under general supervision, this position is responsible for management of intermodal freight from in-gate at origin ramp to out-gate at destination during night shifts and/or as a floater supporting Train Service Manager II position. Responsible for prompt assignment and departure of J.B. Hunt equipment on railroads, timely movement en-route, prompt de-ramping at the destination terminal, management of equipment until out gate, as well as rail billing issues. This position will also act as liaison between J.B. Hunt and railroad personnelJob Description:
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide information and communicate with internal J.B. Hunt intermodal teams regarding on-time service, issues with orders, service interruptions, driver/terminal problems, and dwell
- Request and assign train reservations for all loads traveling on certain railroads
- Update train ETA’s so appointments are set correctly and loads can be planned for dray in a timely manner
- Manage the planned movement of all units at the rail ramps and all units under rail dispatch to ensure J.B. Hunt units achieve goals and can be delivered in a timely manner to the final customer
- Ensure all loads have appropriate billing and are cleared to move on the rail
- Communicate with railroad personnel and rail websites to obtain all necessary information regarding loads moving within the intermodal network and coordinate with internal J.B. Hunt teams
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 6:00 pm - 3:00 am
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED with 1-2 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry &/or military equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or 3-4 years of experience in the Transportation/Logistics industry
- &/OR demonstrated ability of the following skills through education, certifications, military, other experiences:
- Ability to leverage J.B. Hunt relevant information in creating customized customer solutions
- Ability to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work processes
- Knowledge of the J.B. Hunt's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics
- Accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
- Recognize, anticipate, and resolve organizational, operational or process problems Understanding of the importance of meeting or exceeding established targets and ability to drive critical activities to completion

Compensation:
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include skills, education, experience, geography, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position may be eligible for annual bonus and incentives based on profitability or volumes in accordance with the terms of the Company’s bonus and incentive plans, as applicable and in effect from time to time.
