What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level CNC Machinist position at J&B Industrial Services?
SUMMARY
Under supervision, operate CNC (computer numerical controlled) machinery to manufacture metallic and non-metallic parts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include the following however, other duties may apply.)
- Entry Level classification to be maintained through the (90) Day Probationary Period, or until the abilities of a higher classification level are demonstrated.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and responsible manner with assistance from an assigned Trainer or Lead Man.
- Ability to power on and operate CNC lathes and mills.
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on CNC machinery.
- Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials.
- Reads and interprets blueprints with assistance.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements with assistance.
- Promptly contacts the Trainer or Lead Man when tool offsets or other adjustments are required.
- Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures with assistance.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures as instructed.
- Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
- Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management.
- Attends scheduled meetings and actively participates by providing meaningful input.
- Is flexible with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.
- Communicates honestly, professionally and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
