How You Will Make an Impact
The Quality Manager is responsible for management oversight and process effectiveness of quality assurance system, methodical process solving, engage and implement policies and procedures that improve quality awareness, controls, and accountability. In addition, this position will ensure that components are being tested, repaired, and overhauled in accordance with the appropriate technical data, as well as enforce a high standard of cleanliness and functionality not only of the parts inspected, but also in the workplace.
The Nuts and Bolts
- Monitor, evaluate and assign corrective actions to appropriate department heads for completion, as well as follow through and verify the solutions by auditing the efficiency of corrective actions
- Provide monthly reports on problem areas (Pareto, Trend, etc.) to senior management
- Work with engineering and operations to help improve products and process using DOE, PFMEA, SPC, 6 Sigma tools
- Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products
- Plan, promote, and coordinate training activities related to product quality and reliability
- Responsible for employee interviewing, hiring, and training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
