J. Baur Machining is a manufacturing company located in Mars, PA. We have been a leader in precision machining and contract manufacturing for over 40 years. Who Are We Looking For:
We are looking for an entry-level CNC Set-Up Machinist who has the basic knowledge/skill set of a machine operator and ready for the next step on their machinist journey. This is also great opportunity for any student graduating with their journeyman papers or trade school certificate. Our ideal machinist would be familiar with operating Mazak Multi-Tasking Equipment, Mazak Horizontals, and HAAS Verticals. This role would be responsible to safely perform set ups, operation, and teardown of manual and CNC machine tools with assistance from our higher level machinists. What Your Day May Look Like:
- Perform job set-up on various CNC Equipment by reading and understanding the steps conveyed on a job traveler and blueprint.
- Set up, edit, change tooling, and run first article inspection on machine before handing it off to an operator. Must be able to clearly and patiently convey job details to coworkers.
- Trouble shooting on machines in this fast-paced environment.
- Complete parts finishing operation to ensure the parts conform to specifications per blueprint.
- Perform machine tool routine maintenance.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and have a strong understanding of dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- 3 plus years of experience as a CNC Machine Operator or a trade school graduate focusing on CNC machining.
- Team Player with a great attitude that can work with colleagues with collaborating, training, and troubleshooting when machine situations arise. We are a small company that strives for a pleasant work environment for all.
- Must be able to pass a drug and background check.

This position's pay is highly regarded to the level of experience that they bring to Baur Machining. Pay is at an hourly rate and will be negotiated based on your experience. Please let us know your salary requirements when applying. Baur offers competitive pay with available overtime. Our hard-working employees typically work 48 hrs/week, but we realize not everyone is looking for overtime. Baur offers Paid holidays and PTO.
