Who Are We Looking For:
We are looking for a hybrid CNC Programmer/Set-Up Machinist who would be interested in programming in the office and setting up machines on the shop floor. This is a great role for those who enjoy programming but miss the hands-on action on the shop floor. We also would consider an excellent, high level Set-Up Machinist who is ready for the next level of CNC programming. We will always train the right candidate. Our ideal programmer would be familiar with Mastercam, Mazatrol, and EIA for Vertical and Horizontal Mills. This role would primarily program Mazak Equipment featuring horizontal, lathes, integrexes and also HAAS Verticals. If you have strong experience in CNC machining that includes independently setting up, editing, changing tools, checking your first article inspection, and running CNC equipment, we want to hear from you!
What Your Day May Look Like:
IN THE OFFICE:
- Work daily with our CNC Program Manager on upcoming tasks and projects.
- Develop the process required to complete the product from raw material to finished good per blueprint included but not limited to fixtures, tooling, and raw material.
- Design programs for CNC machine tools to produce the product including the set-up sheet.
- Design programs for CMM equipment and provide inspection sheets for the job traveler.
- Audit repeat products to ensure best processes/materials are being practiced
ON THE SHOP FLOOR:
- Perform job set-up on the machine. Set up, edit, and run first article inspection on machine before handing it off to an operator. Must be able to convey job details to coworkers. Assist in training Machine Tool Set-Up Operators. Trouble shooting on machines in this fast-paced environment. Overseeing multiple machines at a time.
- Experience as a CNC Machinist independently setting up a job from start to finish per customer blueprint on CNC multi-tasking equipment.
- 5 plus years of experience as a CNC Machine Set-Up Operator.
- CNC Programming a Plus!
- Graduating from a Trade School is an added bonus, but years of experience in this trade is also honorable.
- Team Player with a great attitude that can work with colleagues with collaborating, training, and troubleshooting when machine situations arise. We are a small company that strives for a pleasant work environment for all.

This position's pay is highly regarded to the level of experience that they bring to Baur Machining. We do not want to put an hourly rate together as this will be negotiated based on your experience. Please let us know your salary requirements when applying. Baur offers competitive pay with available overtime. Our hard-working employees typically work 48 hrs/week, but we realize not everyone is looking for overtime. Baur offers Paid holidays and PTO.
