This full-time position is responsible for assisting the Controller.
Responsibilities
- Assist Controller to maintain the general ledger and balance sheet to ensure company assets are generating positive cash flow and in good standing
- Review and reconcile property income and expenses and bring any discrepancies, problems, or questions to Controller and Property Manager
- Interpret commercial leases and enter key data into integrative property management/accounting software
- Preparation and assistance of month-end statements, rent collection, account reconciliations, and financial statement analysis
- Assist with annual budgeting process including mid-year projections
- Manage commission tracking through YARDI to allocate payments to Agents, prepare invoices and collect outstanding balances
- Prepare monthly reports for Agents on future and outstanding receivables
- Ability to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines while working in a small, team-oriented environment
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in real estate, private equity or fund accounting
- Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance or related field required
- Proficient experience with Yardi or similar Property Management software, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication, analytical skills, attention to detail and organization to work effectively on a team and support various accounting needs
- Capability to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Strong organizational and communication skills, including writing, reporting and research
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
