Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical procedures and diagnoses, submitting claims to insurance companies, and ensuring timely reimbursement for medical services provided. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, coding systems (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and insurance guidelines. Attention to detail, proficiency with billing software, and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this role
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review and verify medical documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) to procedures and diagnoses.
- Prepare and submit electronic and paper claims to insurance companies.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and appeal if necessary.
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients.
- Answer patient inquiries regarding billing issues and insurance claims.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations and billing practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure smooth billing operations.
Qualifications:
- Certified Medical Biller
- Proven experience as a medical biller or coder in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
