Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor

Salary Exempt position and salary is negotiable based on experience.

Purpose of Job:

• The Warehouse and Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily activities for the storage, inventory management, and shipping/receiving functions of the company. This position coordinates activities of international traffic and negotiates settlements between foreign and domestic shipments; plans and directs flow of traffic moving between overseas destinations; documentation, way billing, assessing charges, and collecting fees; and negotiates shipping and freight-handling agreements with domestic and foreign customers. This position supervises warehouse staff, coordinates workflow, ensures that products are received, stored and shipped and implements procedures to improve productivity and operations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervision & Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of warehouse workers to ensure they meet operational goals and safety standards. Responsibilities include preparing performance appraisals, time and attendance record-keeping and work schedules, and discipline.
• Inventory Management: Oversee the receiving, storing, and shipping of products. Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and ensure stock is rotated and properly stored. Ship daily orders and from proper locations
• Shipping and Receiving: Manage the overall shipping and receiving process, to include scheduling trucks/quoting , getting the products ready to ship (weights, dims, crating, shrink wrapping, packing slips, pictures, support documents) processing the invoicing in the ERP system, work with production to process return material authorizations(RMAs), negotiating terms with partner carriers. Prepare export and domestic shipping documents and correspond with freight forwarders and/or customers regarding shipments. Work with Customer Service to ensure proper shipping information is on orders.
• Quality Control: Inspect goods and materials for quality, ensure proper packaging, and address any discrepancies or issues with products.
• Safety Compliance: Enforce safety regulations and ensure all staff members follow safe work practices, using the proper equipment and tools.
• Training & Development: Train new warehouse staff, provide ongoing development for existing employees, and ensure all staff are familiar with warehouse policies and procedures.
• Equipment & Facility Maintenance: Ensure that warehouse equipment is functioning properly and report any issues for repairs. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse
• Other duties: After learning the job this position is expected to be part of the on-call parts pager rotation. Willing to work extra hours when needed to accommodate customer needs.

Skills or Qualifications Needed to be Successful:

• Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business or a related field and/or minimum of 3-5 years of supervisory experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
• Proficient in MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
• Must have a technical and mechanical aptitude with ability to read technical drawings and documents
• Must be able to use selected hand tools, power tools, (general carpentry skills).
• ERP experience, Visual Manufacturing knowledge a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Self-motivated and have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable getting your hands dirty.
• Ability to plan, schedule and coordinate effectively and change priorities quickly based on customers’ demands.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
• Position requires long periods of standing.
• Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Must meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected.
