What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laser Operator I position at J&D SALES INC OF EAU CLAIRE?
SUMMARY
Produces parts made of assorted materials using laser cutting machines from blueprints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Determine proper arrangement of orders according to production schedules and work orders.
- Read, interpret, and understand work orders, drawings, and production schedules to determine specifications, such as material to be used, dimensions, and tolerances.
- Review all nests for sheet utilization and accuracy prior to running machine.
- Verify parts are set to the correct revision level, downloading from the T drive as necessary.
- Ensure lasers are loaded with correct material.
- Set up CNC programs according to work order specifications.
- Perform CNC programming operations.
- Verify orders are accurately and efficiently produced by the machines.
- Unload laser and check for quality of all parts produced.
- Coordinate distribution of finished work orders to subsequent departments.
- Complete order request forms for needed inventory.
- Report levels of in-stock materials weekly.
- Identify needed maintenance of machines and ensure that parts and lasers are ordered and replaced.
- Complete daily and monthly crane inspections and complete checklists for verification.
- Performs card shots, tape shots, etc. to trouble shoot performance issues.
- Follow good housekeeping practices.
- Identify and resolve basic quality issues.
- Follow all safety precautions and use protective equipment as required.
- Identify and immediately correct any safety hazards in work area.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
