What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Designer position at J.F. Brennan Company, Inc.?
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Instructional Designer to develop engaging learning solutions tailored to diverse learners. This can be a remote position with the ability to come onsite once a month and will focus on designing instructional materials, leveraging learning management systems (LMS), and collaborating with subject matter experts to create impactful training programs.
Instructional Designer Responsibilities:
- Develop high-quality instructional materials, including modules, instructor-led training, job aids, and performance support tools, tailored to the needs of diverse learners
- Conduct training needs analyses to identify performance gaps and determine appropriate learning solutions.
- Collaborate with SMEs to extract technical and functional knowledge and transform it into engaging, accessible learning content.
- Leverage learning management systems (LMS) to design and deliver training programs.
- Develop methods to assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and implement improvements as needed.
- Plan and manage instructional design projects, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met.
- Develop and curate multimedia learning resources, including videos, assessments, and simulations.
- Evaluate and refine learning programs based on feedback, analytics, and learner performance.
- Ensure compliance with instructional and accessibility standards such as SCORM, xAPI, and ADA.
- Conduct training sessions for instructors and learners on the effective use of the LMS and digital learning tools.
- Stay updated with emerging trends in instructional design, learning technologies, and adult learning theories.
- Work closely with HC, leadership, and operational teams to align training initiatives with strategic objectives.
Instructional Designer Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years in instructional design or training development
- Experience in Construction industry, preferred
- Certifications in Instructional Design, e-learning development or related fields, preferred
- Experience with instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy).
- Proficiency in e-learning development tools (Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
- Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with LMS platforms and HRIS integration (Arcoro a plus).
- Knowledge of gamification, VR/AR in learning, or microlearning strategies is a plus
