Trilogy at Vistancia is comprised of three feature club experiences, the golf club, the original community centerpiece, Kiva Club, and the recently introduced Mita Club. The golf course, the feature restaurant, V's Taproom, the full-service Alvea Spa, and the events & weddings venue are all available to the public.

Where : Peoria, 40 minutes west of Scottsdale & Northwest of downtown Phoenix, Arizona

Pay : $22.00 per hour

Benefits :

New hourly full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week, will be eligible for the Company medical, dental and life insurance plans the first of the month following 60 days of full-time employment.

Full-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Time Off ("PTO") in accordance with the Company policy at a rate of 120 hours per year.

Full-Time team members are eligible for 7 paid holidays annually.

Part-Time team members are eligible to accrue Paid Sick Leave in accordance with state guidelines.

All team members 21 years and older are eligible to participate in the J.F. Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.

POSITION OVERVIEW :

As a member of the Landscape Maintenance Team, the Spray Technician position is responsible for the upkeep and manicuring of all landscaped areas and hardscapes within the community. This is a mid-level position that accepts direction from the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
Identify plants throughout the community and be able to determine plant stress or plant health.
Observe, or personally apply, chemical treatments to ensure proper coverage and application.
Monitor chemical mixing to ensure correct materials and mixing rates are used, the application is appropriate for the area, and safety equipment meets labelling and law requirements.
Maintain and properly store inventory of plant protectants; report low inventory to the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent.
Maintain current logs containing all plant protectant and fertilizer applications, to meet state regulations and to provide a history of use.
Collaborate with the Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent to develop and communicate a shared vision among the Maintenance Team, determine work schedule needs, and review operational challenges and recommend solutions.
Follow directions and perform tasks given under the supervision of the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent.
Create a productive and enjoyable work environment, and inspire, motivate, and lead by example.
Provide coaching, if applicable, to the Assistant Technician and other team members to develop their skills and potential to become a Spray Technician.
Provide feedback to supervisors regarding individual crew member performance.
Work in a safe manner and use all personal protective equipment (safety gear) assigned.
Be aware of safety requirements, monitor equipment to ensure it is in working order, and promptly report unsafe conditions, repair needs, or accidents to supervisor.
Supervise vehicle refueling and loading of materials needed for the next day.
Accurately complete all daily and weekly work logs and repair report reports.
Conduct end-of-day review and prepare next days' tasks with supervisor.
May occasionally be requested to work overtime or during the weekend to assist during special events when extra labor is required (i.e. weddings, tours, openings, etc.).
Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS :

High School diploma or equivalent.

Two to four years' landscape maintenance experience and two years supervisory experience preferred.

Document

Bilingual in English / Spanish is a plus.

Certified Applicator License for turf or ornamental crops (may vary with geographic locations and local restrictions) required.

Chemical Applicator's License preferred.

Computer literate with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of native and desert-adapted plants, pests, landscaping chemicals, and water needs.

Must have a comprehensive knowledge of pests, diseases, and the use and application for various fertilizers and chemicals.

Knowledge of state and local governmental safety requirements.

Ability to manually operate irrigation timers and valves.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports, plans, labels, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and regulatory documents.

Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.Contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a good attitude with coworkers and the public.

Must be able to calculate figures and amounts such as calibration rates, proportions, percentages, and volume.

Ability to work independently.

Willingness to learn new skills.

Must be willing to accept responsibility for tasks, actions, and decisions; ability to make good decisions based on sound judgement.

Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness a must.

Valid driver's license may be required to operate some vehicles.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

This position works in an outdoor environment.

There may be frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and outdoor weather conditions.

Outdoor environments may require parking and working in residential areas.Obstacles include, but are not limited to, pedestrians and city street traffic, walking while carrying equipment or driving a vehicle on property pathways or variable terrain, water, plants and the natural landscape. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, and falls.

The employee is occasionally exposed to Arizona desert wildlife such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, bobcats, javelinas, etc.

There may be occasional exposure to precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration, with regular work with toxic or caustic chemicals.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can vary depending on the equipment or machines used.

Employees are required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

This position may be very active and may require standing and walking for the duration of a shift, sitting and driving, lifting, pushing, digging, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, using hands to fingers, touching and holding, and reaching with hands and arms; regularly required to speak and hear.

The employee must be able to lift and / or move items up to 50 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
