Salary: $60K to $70K
Scope:
The Bids & Proposal Generalist plays a key role in supporting the Bids & Proposal Manager with creating and reviewing proposals for government-funded projects. This position requires collaboration across multiple departments to develop compliant and competitive strategies. The generalist will bring foundational experience in local, state, or federal government contracting, and proposal (or grant) development, contributing directly to the company’s success in securing contracts.
Job Duties:
- Support all aspects of the proposal process within a complex business environment meeting rigorous deadlines.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing proposals in response to RFPs, ensuring compliance with government and client requirements.
- Gather, analyze, and organize data to support proposal efforts.
- Collaborate with Contracts, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to align strategies with project goals, deadlines, and budget constraints.
- Maintain and update proposal tools, templates, and records to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Monitor compliance with federal and government contracting guidelines.
- Identify and resolve basic challenges with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Participate in meetings to build cross-departmental relationships and gain exposure to the company’s business operations.
- Support all aspects of the proposal process within a complex business environment, meeting rigorous deadlines.
- Support in the review and editing of proposal input from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from subject matter experts.
- Research and review solicitations and requirements, and support the development of outlines, compliance matrices, and proposal schedules.
- Participate in proposal kick-off meetings, final document reviews, document production, and submittal of completed proposals.
- Track and research potential opportunities from business opportunity websites.
- Prepare compelling, well-written technical responses as part of the proposal development process
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in business, marketing, communication or related field or equivalent.- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
- Experience in creating/reviewing proposals for local, state, or federal contracts or grants.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Interest in government contracting and proposal development.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and standard industry systems.
- Strong technical writing and editing skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- A proactive attitude with a desire for continuous learning and growth in the role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in developing/updating pricing models
