The Logistics and Operations Assistant plays a key role in the company’s operation, working very closely with managers, CDL drivers, and our customers, to ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery of our products nationwide. The Logistics and Operations Assistant plays a key role in the company’s operation, working very closely with managers, CDL drivers, and our customers, to ensure timely, accurate, and safe delivery of our products nationwide. The right candidate is part of a team that has a reputation for providing excellent Customer Service!
Some responsibilities include:
- Scan in delivery slips from day before and save in appropriate folders
- Go over deliveries for the day, search unfamiliar addresses, ask questions
- Call customers to confirm addresses, receiving times, truck accessibility
- Make copies of all shipping copies, separate and label each with trucking info and number
- Send out UPS orders; Create maps for each driver; Make second calls to customers that didn't answer
- Print all delivery slips and put in routing order; Make third calls to customers or contact sales representative
- Collect and Copy totals from each yard and mill copies to shipping copies; Get Mill copies from Mill; Copy all totals from shipping copies to delivery slips
- Tag common carrier loads for drivers for product identification
- Make copies of each delivery slip, staple, label checks and accessories; Organize accessories in piles per driver in breakroom
- Collect and keep track of 12 registration books, remove old registrations and replace with new
- Keep trucking files and track of med card and license renewals
- Keep track of time loss
- Keep track of incentive program
- (Mondays) add hours and overtime hours in spreadsheet for mill, yard and shipping.
- Clerical work: create spreadsheets, purchasing as necessary, training with and for drivers; inventory logging and tracking to assist Operations Manager
Requirements:
- Relevant experience, 2 to 5 years
- Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Time management, organization, and attention to detail is a must
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm with some flexibility
- Pay Range: $18-$23/hr based on experience
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen including marijuana
