Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator to join our team. This position is to begin on an "On-call" basis as winter storms progress and ideally transition into a full time position as the growing season approaches. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various types of heavy machinery in a snow and lawn services. This role is crucial for ensuring that properties are completed efficiently and safely, contributing to the overall success of our operations and the safety of our customers. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including Plow trucks, Loaders, Commercial Mowers, Lawn/ landscaping equipment, and be able to load/secure/haul trailered equipment
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations while operating machinery .
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow on-site.
- Assist in loading and unloading materials as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle, ensuring that all equipment is stored properly after use.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
Skills
- experience in heavy equipment operation, particularly with plow trucks, loaders, tractors, snow removal and lawn Maintenace equipment
- Strong understanding of snow removal operations and safety standards.
- Valid drivers license preferred.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and supervisors.
- Very strong attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
- Physical stamina and strength to handle the demands of operating heavy machinery throughout the workday.
- The ability to be on call for winter services and an ability to work 12 hour shifts as necessary.
